Are we able to live our truth?

Am I able to live my truth?

Are you able to live your truth?

Are you able to live your truth? Don’t worry about them or the other person.

There is the capital T Truth, that many of us are after and then there is the truth of our own lives.

If we think of a tree, its trunk is like that Truth while the branches are each of us. All our branches are expressions of the Truth. The trunk is at the source and encompasses all the branches, it connects, nourishes and supports every branch. Each branch has their own expressions, and even give rise to leaves and flowers. The branch may wonder where it comes from and to find the Truth — it must become the trunk, which all it means is to find its own simplest essence, the least common denominator.

It is not surprising then that our quest for Truth takes us into nihilism. The desire to commune further and further with the vastness of all there is we must make ourselves and see ourselves as smaller and smaller. Continue to dial back to our core essence until we find the nothingness from which all arose.

Unlike the branch this exploration into our core and roots is important, because we have a mind that can question, doubt, plan, imagine. In the chaos of living we can forget who we are and need to come to its realization once again. We may get caught up lost in the miasma of our psychological processes. And forget to see the beauty of our own form, the leaves that have come about and the flowers that have bloomed.

We have to allow ourselves the time and space to go exploring but then not sink too deep from tending our own branches and appreciating the rich uniqueness of that which is.

We can live our truth only when we have embraced fully its absolute uniqueness, necessity and beauty — and for that we must go exploring but know when it is time to return.
